I didn’t want to post the huge original issue as it was a mess to figure out, but maybe having it listed might help someone else down the road in the same position as myself. Perhaps this issue is an extension of the original issue I had.
I did some research on Q Code CC and found some things pointing to overtightening of the CPU Cooler possibly damaging circuits or something. And finally if I place it in the recommended setup B2 and A2, it will give some error Q Code CC. However, if I place that same ram in A2 or A1, the ones closest to the processor, I will get Q Code 55. One other odd thing is that if I only use one 8 gb stick of ram and place it in either B2 or B1, it will run as single channel just fine. Is it possible the ram might work with an i5 but not the i7? I had the i5 6600k that either was faulty or I suppose I made it faulty by doing some minor overclocking to it, so I replaced it with an i7 6700k. So i noticed that it was not listed, but one thing i forgot to note is that prior to finding out my prior CPU was broken, the ram was working perfectly fine in dual channel with 2 x 8 gb sticks at either 2133 mhz and even 2666 mhz using xmp. I know that dual channel is recommended over single channel, but is there a significant difference if I were to get one 16 gb stick and run it single channel vs having 2x8gb sticks? I primarily use this computer for gaming and use it with Adobe Photoshop, etc… nothing extremely CPU intensive. To summarize, I have 2 x 8 gb DDR 4 ram sticks totaling 16 gb, but I am now limited to using one 8 gb slot in single channel by placing it in slot B2 or B1.ĭoes anyone have any possible insight of things I can try? I tried clearing CMOS again, tried reflashing the latest bios, but seems I am now stuck with this issue. Für maximale Leistung und Zuverlässigkeit auch beim Übertakten ist bereit No. After some more research, the only information I am finding is stuff about over-tightening the CPU cooler or there being a short somewhere. If I place a stick of ram in A1 and/or A2, I then receive an error code 55. While I guess I should be happy that my computer is working again, it just annoys the heck out of me that I am now no longer able to have dual channel ram because when Error CC appears, the computer DOES NOT POST. I CAN SUCCESSFULLY boot the computer with no issue when my ram is in either slots B1 and/or B2. After some research on Google, I tried taking out both ram sticks and just trying one in every slot. When the computer initially booted up, I was getting a Q-Code Error CC when I have both of my ram sticks in slots A2 and B2.
